Dorothy June Seipke, age 100 years, died peacefully Tuesday, July 2, 2019 in the loving care of Bayfield Assisted Living
surrounded by her family. She was born June 2, 1919 to the late Mark and Flossie (Greer) Kehoe. She was one of nine children
and grew up on a farm in Gladwin, Michigan. Dorothy was passionate about life and forever interested in others. Her tenacious
spirit, positive attitude and great sense of humor were infectious.
She had many interests, loved to walk the mall, twirl the dance floor, listen to music and knew how to play the saxophone!
She was a talented seamstress and sewed for all her children from to winter coats. She loved crocheting and making afghans.
An Irish cook, she spared the spice but made the best pies and cookies on the planet. She was fascinated by politics and current
events working many years on Election Day. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church (St. Jude Thaddeus Parish) in
Essexville, where she was a former secretary for eighteen years.
But nothing held her interest more than her family and friends whom she regaled with her sharp wit, ever wise advice,
warmth and love. She was an amazing mom and raised four children alongside her husband Leonard (LS, Cookie) whom she was married
to for 69 years until his death on January 20th, 2010. Together, they owned LS Wholesale Company and distributed Archway cookies,
chips and candy to much of Northeast Michigan. The amazing duo loved life and inspired their children sharing the best things
in life really are free, love and kindness. Dorothy's beautiful smile, kind heart and laughter lite up everyone's life right
up until her final day. She will be forever missed.
Surviving Dorothy are her children: Don (Lana) Seipke, Mary Kathryn (Bill) Mackin, Ann (Mike) Brandow; nephew George Kehoe,
five grandchildren: Donald and Jim Seipke, Janelle (Mark) Wolfman, Mark Smolinski, Adam (Katie) Brandow, Brett Mackin; ten
great-grandchildren: Michael, Meagan, Daniel, Abigale, Charles, Brenden, Emily, Daniel, Kara, Luke; great-nieces and great-nephews:
Candy (Tony) VanLuchene, Amy Posgate, Kim Hasty, Carrie (Dave) Simpson, Michelle Kehoe; and preceded in death by Ryan Kehoe.
She is survived by her youngest brother Don (Yvonne) Kehoe along with many relatives and dear friends.
Dorothy's life will be celebrated with a Memorial Mass on Saturday, July 13, 2019 at 11:00 am at St. John the Evangelist
Church (St. Jude Thaddeus Parish), 614 Pine at Hudson Streets, Essexville, MI with Rev. Fr. Dale A. Orlik presiding.

Ardath Ann Church, age 97, of Rose City, Michigan went into Glory on the morning of April 18th, 2019.
She was born July 16th, 1921, in Lawton, Michigan, a daughter of the late Olive V. Pillsbury-Sheldon and Earl B. Sheldon
Ardath was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, William Roland Church II. They had 6 children; Nancy Balla, Renee
Church, Bill Church, Julianne Green, Peggy Johnson, and Josette Oleksik.
Ardath Church was a devoted Christian, daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend, and community servant.
She had a beautiful life enriched with 19 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren whom she loved dearly. She was very active
in her community volunteering throughout the years in the Historical Society, Red Hats of Florida, Lioness Women’s
Club of Rose City, member of the United Methodist of Women, a 4-H class leader in cooking, and she also aided in the operations
and book-keeping of her husband’s business. She graduated from West Branch High School in 1938 and enjoyed many
friendships from there and throughout her community. She also enjoyed gardening and cards; you could always see a twinkle
in her eye when the cards came out.
She will be dearly missed by family and numerous friends.

Inez L. Schubert, 93, passed away on Aug. 1, 2014, at Horizon Senior Living Facility in West Branch.
She
was born on Jan. 30, 1921, in West Branch to Ray and Lucille (Rosebrugh) Parliament. She grew up on a farm on Morrison Road
with her brothers and sisters, Loren, Johnnie, Burt, Joe, Mary and Beulah, of which Burt and Joe survive her.
She married
Jack C. Schubert on Aug. 10, 1944, in Pensacola, Fla., where he was training as a Navy bomber pilot for WWII. After the war
they moved to Bridgeport, where they had three sons. After a short time in Exeter, R.I., they returned to West Branch, their
hometown, where they purchased Ogemaw Lanes. Inez took an active role in running the bowling alley, volunteered for the Ogemaw
Historical Society and was a member of the Churchill United Methodist Church. She was a loving wife and mother. She especially
enjoyed attending the Rural School Reunion and West Branch High School Alumni Reunion each year. She will be remembered for
her great sense of humor. One of her best lines was, “I chased Jack until he caught me!”
Inez is survived
by her sons, Jeff (Kris) Schubert of West Branch and Kent (Christi) Schubert of Chesaning. She has four grandchildren, Curt
(Rebecca) Schubert of Traverse City, Carrie (Rod) Barriger of Sanford, Karl Schubert of Kalamazoo and Christian Schubert of
Chesaning. Inez has five great-grandchildren, Brett, Josh, Josie and Luke Barriger of Sanford and Michele Schubert of Traverse
City.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack; and a son, Mark, both this year.

Lucille A. Swaffield, 82, of Bad Axe died Monday, Nov. 4, 2002, at Huron Medical Center in Bad Axe.
She was born on Feb. 11, 1920, to the late Andrew and Dora (Grasley) Cole in St. Helen.
Lucille married Earl Swaffield on June 20, 1940, at Trinity Episcopal Church in West Branch. He preceded her in death
in 1992.
Lucille worked as a buyer of children's clothing for Sears in Bay City. She and Earl owned and operated the Huron Party
Store in Bad Axe for many years. They retired in 1976.
Lucille is survived by her sister, Ruth Long of Lake Clark Shores, Fla.; nieces and nephews, Bob Adrian and his wife,
Donna, of Payson, Ariz., Butch Cole and his wife, Sue, of S.C., Barbara Fazekas of Florida, Bud Swaffield and his wife, Delores,
of Flint; a grandniece, Denise, of Flint; and a grandnephew, Jim Swaffield of Florida.

Violet Marquardt McCarron passed away peacefully with dignity and grace that marked her 96 years of life, on March 10, 2013.
She was born in Rose City, MI to James and Mable Simmons on January 25, 1917. She resided in Michigan and Florida before
moving close to her daughter in 2000. She was a recent resident of Bellaire Place in Greenville, SC.
Violet was the wife of the late Robert G. Marquardt for 21 years and the late John J. McCarron for 23 years.
She is survived by her 91 year old brother, Roy Simmons. She is also survived by her son, James Marquardt and his wife,
Trina; her daughter, Catherine Nance and her husband, Robert; and two grandchildren Rob and Michelle Nance.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Norman Simmons.
Violet was a lifetime member of the K of C Ladies Auxiliary Guild, holding numerous positions when living in Michigan
and Florida. She was a loving and devoted mother, wife and friend who kept a strong Catholic Faith. She enjoyed volunteering
as a "welcome lady" at her many residences.

November 14, 2010 at St. Mary's Medical Center in Saginaw. Viola had
lived in West Branch since 2002, formerly of Rose City. She was a
member of Holy Family Catholic Church, the CCW and St. Ann's Guild, also
a member of Arc (Association of Retarded Citizens.) She worked for
many years as a cook for the Kountry Kitchen in Rose City.

the rest of her life. Alberta worked at Chevrolet Transmission in Saginaw during WWII, later at U.S. Graphite, and Saginaw
Steering Gear. For almost 20 years she worked for the State of Michigan Treasury Department and the Caro State Hospital.

Alberta attended St. Francis Xavier Cabrini Catholic Church
and proudly served as president of the Altar Society. In her later years besides maintaining her Catholic faith Alberta joined
with people of many different denominations and explored many areas of Christian faith. She sought to worship the Lord in
every way possible. Alberta loved to dance and served as chairperson of the Vassar Dance Club in the '60's. She taught line
dancing in Florida during her winter excursions south. In recent years Alberta became concerned for the future of America
and became an avid supporter of the Western Thumb Tea Party.
Alberta Jane Pabalis was born in Vassar, Michigan, on June
27, 1920 and died on April 28, 2012 of acute myeloid lukemia. She attended Vassar Public Schools through the 11th grade
and graduated from West Branch High School in 1938. Alberta attended Saginaw Business Institute for 18 months and learned secretarial,
bookkeeping, and other business skills. She married Herbert R. Pabalis in July, 1943, and moved to Vassar where she resided
the rest of her life. Alberta worked at Chevrolet Transmission in Saginaw during WWII, later at U.S. Graphite, and Saginaw
Steering Gear. For almost 20 years she worked for the State of Michigan Treasury Department and the Caro State Hospital.

her later years besides maintaining her Catholic faith Alberta joined with people of many different denominations and explored

Ora Pekrul
Ora A. Pekrul (November 27, 1923 - March 29, 2012)
Ora Alene McIntosh Pekrul, age 88 of West Branch, passed
away March 29, 2012, at Brian’s House in Bangor Township, Bay County Mi. Ora was born November 27, 1923, in Covington,
Tipton County, Tennessee, to James Russell and Irene Neely Delk McIntosh. She married Alfred Andrew Pekrul on October 31,
1943, in Upland, California. Ora lived in West Branch since 1944. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and
the Order of the Eastern Stars. Ora loved to spend time with family camping and traveling and was a huge Nascar fan.
Ora is survived by her children: Donna (John) Walsh,(class of 1962), James
& Sandy Pekrul (class of 1964,), and Irene (Edward) Breadon (class of 1966). Grandchildren: Diana (Brad) Bissonette, Michael
Walsh and fiancé Tammi Krawczyk, Michael and Nancy Pekrul, Robert and Kristen Pekrul, Timothy and Stacy Breadon, and Christina
Breadon, Steve and Tammy Waddell, and Scott Waddell. Fourteen great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild and her former
daughter-in-law Darlene (Curt) Craven. She was predeceased by her husband Alfred in October 2000. Visitation at the Steuernol
& McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Sunday, April 1, 2012 from 3-9 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held
at 11:00 a.m. on Monday at the First United Methodist Church in West Branch. Pastor Lisa Cook will officiate with burial following
at Brookside Cemetery, West Branch. Memorial Contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church in West Branch
or to Brian’s House of Bay City.
Hazel Robinson Butler
Hazel Butler passed away peacefully Sunday, August 21, 2011 at Bortz Health Care in West Branch.
Hazel was born December 23, 1919 in West Branch one of 9 children born to Anna (Yantz) and John Robinson.
Hazel was born and raised in Ogemaw Township. She graduated from West Branch High School in 1938 and graduated
from Ogemaw County Normal School in 1939. Hazel taught at Pleasant Hill School and then served in the Waves (Navy). After
the Navy, she worked in Detroit before returning to West Branch and marrying Charles Butler. Hazel returned to teaching at
Pleasant Hill School. She was an active local government official working as Ogemaw Township Treasure for over 50 years. She
was first sworn in as treasure in 1953.
Hazel is survived by her children, John (Patricia) Butler and Renee (Tom) Ryland both of West Branch, grandchildren;
Tracey Ryland and Anthony (Mary Jo) Ryland both of West Branch, Michael (Jesse) Butler of Stockbridge and Melissa (Blaine)
VanPelt of Kingsley, great-grandchildren; Corbin Ryland and Paityn and Blaine VanPelt. Also surviving is her sister Helen
Robinson. She is preceded in death by her husband Charles on May 2, 2010, 7 brothers and sisters.

Dorothy Jackson Muzik Class of 1938
Dorothy L. Jackson Muzik, age 89, West Branch HIgh School Class of 1938, passed away Friday,
September 10, 2010 at Bortz Health Care of Rose city.
Dorothy had lived in West Branch for most of her life. She was a member of the Churchill United Methodist
Church. Dorothy was a “Rosie the Riveter” during World War II and also a telephone operator. Dorothy loved cooking
and baking for family and friends, her flower gardens, and the Detroit Tigers.
Dorothy is survived by her children, Bill (Wanda) Muzik of West Branch, Jean (Mel) Minkin of Lawrenceville,
Georgia and Linda (Ron) Oldenburg of Aurora, Colorado, her grandchildren, Mike, Peggy, Dionne, Amy, Tony, Todd and Wendy,
11 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter, sister-in-law, Lucy Sabo and many nieces and nephews. Dorothy was
preceded in death by her husband, John and her brothers, Russell (Esther) Jackson, Clare (Marjorie) Jackson and sisters, Leora
(Louie) Bedtelyon and Marie (Joe) Hennigar
