Benjamin F. Richardson, age 93, West Branch High School, Class of 1932, of West Branch
passed away Thursday, February 26, 2009 at West Branch Regional Medical Center. Ben had lived in West Branch for all of his
life. He served as a Captain in the Air Corp during WW II. Ben was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Kiwanis Club both
of West Branch and he attended the First United Methodist Church of West Branch. Ben owned and operated Ogemaw County Abstract
from 1960-1999, retiring at the age of 83.
Survivors include his wife Betty Richardson of West Branch,(West Branch High School Class of 1942), children,
Loree(West Branch HIgh School Class of 1960). (Michael) Noel of Morristown, AZ and Kerry (Ann) Richardson of West Branch,
grandchildren, Michelle, Melanie, Christopher, Jamie and Jennifer, and great-grandchildren, Candyce, Ann, Christopher, Ciara,
Benjamin, Jamie, Henry, McKenzie, Audrey and Garett. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Eunice and sons, Garnet (West
Branch High School Class of 1963), and James.
On Monday, March 2, 2009, the family will be present to receive friends at the First United Methodist Church
in West Branch beginning at 12:30 p.m. until the time of the Memorial Service at 1:30 p.m. Rev. Mary E. Lynch and Cindy Gibbs
will officiate with burial at Brookside Cemetery at 4:00 p.m.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Hospice of Helping Hands, West Branch.

The pictures above were taken in 1926 when Haden
was 14 and Lloyd was 16.
They were shared with us by Deanna Smith, daughter of Haden. She found
our alumni website when searching for information on her family's history.
She believes, according to the 1930 census, that Lloyd was a teacher.
Deanna would appreciate any information you may have on that.
She also shared a picture of a country school near West Branch and
wonders if it may have been the school where Lloyd taught....
