From Larry Cline...
I am trying to compare a picture of my
grt grd father to the ladies in the 1891 photo and the one second from the left looks a little like him. I am guessing this
could be his sister Carrie. You may find this interesting. Carrie went to the University of Michigan after graduating from
West Branch in 1891.She attended about 2 years. That was really something back then. She (Carolyn Belle Cline)then married
William Witter from Ohio and he was at one point the Ogemaw county coroner. They had 2 daughters together. Carrie Cline's fathers
name was Charles Arther Cline. Her brother was Charles Albert Cline who lived in the house on Flowage Lake Dam just outside
of town behind the new bowling alley. That is where my grd father Garfield Cline(1907) and his brother Howard (1909) were
born.I believe Carrie passed away in 1918. Which was the same year as her mother Immogene (Emma) Higbie Cline. They are all
buried in the cemetary by the state police post.If anyone has any info on these people and Silas Close the photographer and
carpenter I would really appreciate anything. Thank you, Larry Cline.michsportsfan2000@yahoo.com |
