Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon for Vernon
Moss, 64, who died of a heart attack at his home in Columbus Ohio, on Tuesday morning, May 20.
He was the son of William and Charlotte Moss of West Branch.
After graduating from the West Branch High School, Mr.
Moss taught in the rural schools in Ogemaw County. He was responsible for the organization of the Gleaner lodges throughout
this part of the country.
Moving to Ohio, he went into the insurance business and became
state agent for the Missouri Mutual Life Insurance Co. For the past fifteen or twenty years he has been in the investment
business for himself.
Surviving him are his wife Daisy, three sisters, Mrs. J.
C. Davies of West Branch, Mrs. Oscar Jones of Ferndale, and Mrs. Ethel Tait of Cleveland, Ohio, two brothers, Burwill C. Moss
of Bay City and Arthur J. Moss of Detroit, and two daughters, Mrs. Jeanne Louofborough of Birmingham, Michigan,
