Judy Ann Thompson, 73, of Midland passed away Monday, Sept. 25, 2017, at her home.
Judy was born Oct. 23, 1943, in West Branch to Howard and Jean (Lally) Thompson. She resided in Midland for more than
40 years, but always considered West Branch her home. Judy loved spending time with her nieces and nephews. She enjoyed sports,
knitting and playing cards.
Judy is survived by her brothers, Patrick Thompson and Todd (Mindy) Thompson, and sister, Susan (Jerry) Conyer, all of
West Branch. Also surviving are her nieces and nephews, Kim, Kraig, Kurt, Kory, Heather, Dustin, Ashley, Eleisha, Logan, Tim
and Julie; several great-nieces and -nephews and many aunts, uncles and cousins; and special friend, Maryann Brandes.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Jean Thompson; sister, Trudy Thompson; and brother, Dr. Randy Thompson.
Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin Friday, Sept. 29, 2017, from 4-8 p.m.
The funeral service will be held at the funeral home Saturday, Sept. 30, at 1 p.m. with visitation starting at 11 a.m. The
Rev. Tim Dibble will officiate. Burial will follow at Brookside Cemetery.
Larry Eldon Andrews, 71, of Gaylord passed away on Tuesday, Jan.
12, 2016, at Otsego Memorial Hospital.
Born in West Branch on Aug. 4, 1944, Larry was the son of Stanley
and Frances (Barrett) Andrews.
He was a graduate of West Branch High School in the class of 1962, and
also attended Michigan State University. Larry served in the U.S. Army
in Vietnam. A longtime resident of West Branch, Larry had lived in
Gaylord the last 15 years. He retired from Pepsi-Cola and had worked at
Home Depot in Gaylord.
Larry was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church
in West Branch and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was also a
past president of West Branch Little League and enjoyed watching
baseball and spending time in his workshop. He had a passion for
spending time with his grandchildren and time at his cabin in Canada.
Larry married Sandra Schaefer in December 1967. She preceded him in death in 2003.
Surviving are his sons, Chris (Michele) Andrews
of Elmira and Chad (Terri Gifford) Andrews of Grayling; grandchildren,
Gage, Kate, Coy and Mandy Lee Andrews and Ella Gifford; and sisters,
Sally Ludeking of Iowa and Nancy Bentley of Florida. ****
Jerald “Jerry” R. Lovell, age 70, a resident of Clinton Township, Michigan passed away on
Sunday, July 5, 2015.
He was born September 13, 1944 in West Branch, Michigan to the late George R. and Beulah A.
Parliament Lovell.
On October 1, 2005, he was united in marriage to Lynn M. Davidson. This coming October, they would
have celebrated their 10th Wedding Anniversary.
Jerry, as he was known to family and friends, was a proud graduate
of Michigan State University and Detroit College of Law where he earned his Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree. He practiced law as
an appeals attorney for over 30 years, although now retired. Jerry was a former member of the State of Michigan Bar Association
and the Macomb County Bar Association. Like Thomas Jefferson once said ‘I cannot live without books’… Jerry
was an avid reader and book collector. He valued books, owned many of them, especially biographies and history books, and
loved the time he spent holding one in his hands, reading. As a world traveler, he visited Alaska, Hawaii and many of the
National Parks, taking in their beauty and historical significance. With many hobbies and interests, he also studied all
things related to geology. He collected rocks from his various travels and was known to have gathered so many, he would ship
them home. He and wife Lynn would host weekly domino games and would also enjoy playing cards.
He is survived by his
loving wife Lynn M. Davidson, Uncle Bert Parliament, Aunt Charlotte Parliament, many loving cousins, mother in law and father
in law, Donna and Bernard Bowman, sisters in law, brothers in law, nieces, nephews and other extended loving family. Besides
his parents he was preceded in death by his step father Lawrence Gallagher. ***

Austin
B. Basham, age 70, passed away on Wednesday, September 24, 2014 in Alger, MI
with his family by his side. Austin has lived in West Branch for most of his
life. He was born to Gerald and Ruth (Kurzrock) Basham in West Branch, MI on
April 12, 1944. Austin was a life member of the NRA, a CCW Instructor, and
served in the US Navy from 1961 to 1965. He was a jack of all trades and always
would lend a helping hand to friends.

is survived by his daughter: Theresa (Matt) Richardson of Dayton,
OH; grandsons:
Ethan and Asher; sisters: Gerry (Ron) Falkner of Howell, MI, and Patty Sue
(Jack) Underhill of Green Valley, AZ; mother of his children: Helen (Bob) Miller
of Oklahoma City, OK; companion: Judy McPherson and her family; and many nieces
and nephews. Austin also had many special friends: David Yantz, Janet Blanchard,
Steve Robinson, Bill Meier, and many others as well as his furry friend, Mister
Whiskers. He is preceded in death by his parents and son, Jerry.

at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on
Saturday, September 27, 2014 starting at 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at
3:00 p.m. Memorial Contributions may be made to Heartland
Hospice.
RUEGSEGGER, MAXINE "MAX" On August 22, 2014, Iva Maxine "Max" Ruegsegger broke free from the chains of Alzheimer's disease
and Cancer and is now fully restored in the presence of her Lord and Savior. She was born on May 31, 1944 to Clayton and Stella
Cummings in West Branch, Michigan and resided a majority of her life in Bay City, Michigan. Max's passion in life was serving
others which was evident in variety of work she accomplished as well as the relationships she enjoyed throughout her life.She
was preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Orville "Joe" Cummings, Shirley Denman, Carol Smelser and Dorothy Gerow.
Left to cherish in her memory are her beloved family, Son, Sam (Sue) Ruegsegger, her three grandchildren Noah, Ben and Paige
as well as family and friends.
Patrick C. Gallagher (February 6, 1944 - May 31, 2013)
Patrick C. Gallagher, age 69, passed away Friday, May 31, 2013, at West Branch Regional Medical Center.
Pat was born March 2, 1944, to Arthur and Dorothy (Meir) Gallagher and had lived in West Branch for all of his life. Pat was
a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church, K of C #2022, and the NRA. He retired from Sandvik in 2009 after 25 years of service.
Pat enjoyed hunting, fishing, trips out west and hunting trips to the U.P.
Pat is survived by his former wife, Mary Ehinger, his sons, Irish (Linda) Gallagher of Benton Harbor, Ryan (Sherri)
Gallagher of West Branch, and Tracy Gallagher of Midland, his grandchildren, Shane, Devin, Karissa, and Justin. Also surviving
are his brothers Gary (Lauranne) Gallagher of Flint, Danny (Pat) Gallagher, and Greg Gallagher both of West Branch, and many
nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family wishes to express extreme gratitude to his friends that have assisted him in the last several years. Especially

Jerry L. Shore (July 26, 1944 - March 19, 2012)
Jerry Lee Shore, age 67 of Alger,class of 1962, passed away March 19, 2012 at his home.
Jerry was born July 26, 1944 in West Branch to James and Delores (Craft) Shore. He had lived in Ogemaw County for all of his
life. Jerry was a member of the Moose Lodge of West Branch and he enjoyed golfing, fishing, camping, bowling and going to
the casino. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War was employed by Bunting Sand and Gravel for over 30 years.
Jerry is survived by his wife Sharon Shore of Alger, children, Rebecca Shore of West Branch, Darrin Adcock
of West Branch, Anne (Frank) Boddy of Alger, Jerry (Jeane) Shore of Holt, Dirk Adcock of Alger and William Shore of West Branch,
and his mother Delores Shore of West Branch. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, brother, Gary (Susan)
Shore of Port Charlotte, FL, his sisters, Margaret Killinger of West Branch, Gloria (Richard) Bird of Houghton Lake and Linda
(Homer) Randall of Prudenville, his brother-in-law Clark Faist of Pigeon and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his father James Shore, brother-in-law Irving “Kelly” Killinger and a nephew Kevin
Shore.
The family would like to thank their nephews Jim, Tim and Terry Killinger and their niece Debbie Kennedy for
their special help during Jerry’s illness and sister, Margaret and brother, Gary for staying at night with Shirley.

Trudy A. Thompson, age 67, passed away Monday, October 17, 2011 at her home in West Branch.. Trudy
was born on October 23, 1943 in West Branch and lived there for most of her life. She graduated from West Branch High School
in 1962 and was employed by McLaren Regional Medical Center in Flint and Tolfree Memorial Hospital in West Branch before retiring.
Trudy is survived by her twin sister Judy Thompson of Midland and brothers Dr. Randy (Kathy) Thompson, Patrick
Thompson and Todd (Mindy) Thompson and her sister, Susan (Jerry) Conyer all of West Branch. Also surviving are her nieces

Yvonne K. Delmotte, age 67 of West Branch, passed away Tuesday September 6, 2011 at University
of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor. Yvonne had lived in West Branch for most of her life. She was the treasurer for the D.A.V.
Auxilary Chapter #72, Ogemaw Hills. She enjoyed bingo, going to the casino and spending time with her grandchildren.
Yvonne is survived by her husband Joe Delmotte of West Branch, children, Joe Jr. (JoAnn) Delmotte of Falling
Waters, WV, John (Diane) Delmotte and Jeff (Mary) Delmotte both of West Branch, grandchildren, Jessica, Justin, Jay, Kailyn,
Madison and Elizabeth and her great-grandchildren, Kalli Jo, Michele, Jordan and Dakota. Also surviving are her sisters, Dorothy
Bigelow of Bellaire (Class of 1947), Jane Turow of Lake and Etheline Awrey (Class of 1956)of West Branch and her brothers,
Vernon (Cora) Killinger of West Branch and Melvin (Diane) Killinger of Rose City (Class of 1969), and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brothers Harley Killinger Jr., Irving Killinger and Orville Killinger and her parents Harley
and Eva Killinger.

1944 Departed on April 20, 2011 and resided in Highland, Michigan. Sharon
Rose (Sheick) Bunting - age 66, of Highland, Michigan, died Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at St. Joseph Mercy. Services were
held 11 AM Saturday, April 23, 2011 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 W. Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. Interment will
follow at Rose Center Cemetery. Mrs. Bunting was born July 30, 1944 in West Branch, the daughter of John Sheick and
Ruth Walters. She enjoyed art, gardening and volunteering her time. Surviving are: husband, Richard (Dick); two daughters,
Trina (Jeffrey) Hillman of Swartz Creek, Marna (Wayne) Bunting-Smith; granddaughter, Lindsey Smith; four sisters, Nancy (Bill)
Burt, Angie (Bob) Arnold, Arlene Smith, Linda (Dick) Stowell; special niece, Rose (Ted) Lewis. She was preceded in death by
her parents, stepfather, Lawrence Tanner and sister, Carol.

Ray Kartes - Class of 1962
Raymond S. Kartes, age 64 of West Branch, passed away Tuesday, February
17, 2009 at his home. Ray was a loving husband to Sally Hodgins Kartes (Class of 1962, father, grandfather and an avid outdoorsman.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Michigan Supreme Travel Club, Pheasants Forever and the NRA. He retired
from General Motors in 1994.
Ray is survived by his wife Sally ,of West Branch, his son, Michael (Elizabeth) Kartes of Boyne City, grandchildren,
Weston, Landon and Ashlyn, his mother, Beatrice Kartes of West Branch, sisters, Melvia Buckel of West Branch, Marge (Rodger)
Reinke of Linden and Anna (Jack) Chisa of Saginaw, his brother in law, Richard Hodgins of West Branch, sister in law, Judy
Hodgins of Minnesota and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Steve Kartes and brother in laws,
Patrick Hodgins and Ed Buckel.
Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Friday, February 20, 2009 from
2-8 p.m. with a Scripture Service at 7:00 p.m. On Saturday, there will be no visitation at the funeral home. The family will
receive friends at St. Joseph Catholic Church in West Branch beginning at 1:00 p.m. until the Funeral Mass at 2:00 p.m. Saturday.
Fr. Robert Bissot will officiate.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Ogemaw County or to St. Joseph Church for Masses in

A note from classmate Jeff Rivard..
After graduating from WBHS in 1962, Jeff attended
Central Michigan University, graduating in 1966. He taught high school English, and coached golf and basketball in Holland,
Saginaw and North Branch, 1966-71. He left teaching/coaching to return to college, this time to Michigan State for another
degree obtained (1972), then back to CMU for a MA in Communication Arts (Broadcasting/Journalism) (1974). Jeff then worked
for his college fraternity, Phi Kappa Tau, as a traveling consultant, 1974-76. He began a five decades career in golf
administration in 1977 as the first ever CEO of the Sun Country Golf Association located in Alqubuquerque. Other stops
were as a Rules Official on the LPGA Tour, Regional Affairs for the USGA, and Executive Director, Golf Association of
Michigan, 1984-92. Since 1993, Jeff has served as Executive Director of the Western Pennsylvania Golf Association, and
resides in Pittsburgh.
Jeff has traveled extensively, more than 40 states, plus golf trips to both Ireland and Scotland.
He has been married once, no children.
